In a world where social media is flooded with fleeting images, I find solace in the tangible art of printmaking. My work in landscape photography and environmental portraiture explores the profound connection between people and place—capturing the essence of a landscape beyond mere observation and revealing the quiet dialogue between individuals and their surroundings.
Throughout my career, I have advanced the field of photography, from Microsoft’s first digital imaging studio to my role as Director of Imaging at Corbis. I helped envision CreativeLive and restructured the Santa Fe Workshops to ensure its success. Yet, beyond these experiences, my deepest pursuit has always been photography’s power to illuminate the unseen forces shaping both land and life.
Now based in the Skagit Valley, I am drawn to its mist-laden fields, ancient forests, and shifting coastal light. Here, my landscape photography distills the ineffable essence of place, while my environmental portraiture reveals how people shape—and are shaped by—their surroundings. Each large-format giclée print is more than a document; it is a meditation on time, place, and the forces that connect us to the land.
